Road Safety

Road safety is a never-ending topic as injury and death on the world’s roads are of great concern to governments and individuals. Many organisations, private and governmental, are involved in strategizing to make roads safe for all road users.

According to the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) website about 1.3 million people die on the world's roads and 20 - 50 million are injured every year. Road traffic crashes are a major cause of death among all age groups and the leading cause of death for children and young adults aged 5–29 years. Statistics from Our World in Data website, road fatalities rank no. 4 for 15 to 49 year olds.

The GIAB is hoping that you will play your part in keeping the roads of Barbados safe.
